What is web hosting?

Web hosting is like Internet real-estate. If you want to build a house, you need a place to build it and roads to get to it. Similarly, if you want to build a website, you need server space to store your files and bandwidth to access your site.

Your website is your personal place on the World Wide Web. You can use it to run a business, show family photos, etc. You can design it yourself or hire another company to establish your online presence.

How soon will my account be setup and ready to use?

After your payment: Your account takes only 5 minutes to setup and activate. The rest depends on your domain name - if you have already registered your domain name with AXN Data, it will be ready to use 12-48 hours after the necessary name server (DNS) changes to your domain. Domain transfer usually takes longer, from 2-3 days to a week, depends on your current service provider.

Can I password protect directories?

Yes. Each Control Panel has an easy-to-use utility, which makes it possible to password-protect one or more directories with multiple users. Since it uses .htaccess, FrontPage users must use the password protection utility that comes with their software.

Can I transfer my site from another web host?

Yes! Just sign up for a web hosting package from us as usual, upload your files, we'll transfer your domain to AXN Data and you're done.

What if I exceed my transfer allowance?

We will inform you via email. You will be given the option of either upgrading to a higher package that comes with more transfer or paying our extra traffic charge according to our pricelist

Can I upgrade or downgrade my hosting plan later?

Yes, you can. We don't charge any setup fee to upgrade or downgrade, you just pay the pro-rated difference in price.

Can I custom-make my own hosting plan?

Yes! Just contact us with what you need and we'll be more than happy to give you a custom price.

Do your prices include domain name registration?

For hosting packages we offer domain registration for free for following domains: .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info

Do you have any plans that support ASP / ODBC / Coldfusion?

No. AXN Data provides services exclusively utilizing the Linux operating system. Please note that we support powerful open-source alternatives to each of these technologies, such as PHP4, Perl5, and MySQL.

Do you host adult sites / chat servers / IRC clients or bots?

No. Technical concerns about maintaining the quality of our service for our entire customer base have led us to establish a strict policy against adult-oriented sites, chat servers and IRC clients or bots. Do you allow shell / telnet / SSH access?

We allow SSH access for hosting customers excluding Home package.
